West Bengal is an Eastern Indian state located in the Bay of Bengal. Kolkata which is one of the metropolitan cities of India is also the West Bengal’s capital. Siliguri, Asansol, Durgapur are some of the major cities of this state. The official language of this state is Bengali.

Bengalis love to savor their local cuisines. Rice and fish are their staple food. Rasogulla is a popular Bengali sweet. Agriculture makes the majority of the economy’s contributor of this state. It is the largest jute producer amongst all Indian states. China clay and Coal are the two important minerals found here. Some industries that run here are cotton, textile, leather, tea, paper, etc. Murshidabad and Baluchari silk is famous worldwide.
The first metro rail project was established and executed in Kolkata in 1984. Some tourist attractions are Victoria Memorial, Zoological garden, Pareshnath temple, Kalighat temple, Howrah bridge, etc. This state is full of scenic beauty of India and tranquility.
