Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu is the southernmost part of India and the word ‘Tamil Nadu’ means ‘The Land of Tamil’. The capital of this state is Chennai which is also the largest city. Tamil is the official language here.

This land is home to classical civilization which dates back to two millennia. The state is immersed in tradition and age-old customs. Their culture is almost 2000 years old which is belongs to Dravidians family. The people practice many rituals and ceremonies which show the true color of their culture.

The traditional dance form of this place is Bharatnatyam which is a powerful dance which talks about the life of deities and gods. Pongal is the main festival which marks the harvest season. Jallikattu is the festival of a bull fight.

This state produces a lot of agricultural items like rice, maize, jowar, ragi, mango, tapioca, and many more. This state is also the largest producer of banana, turmeric, coconut, etc. The major cities of this state are Kodaikanal, Ooty, Kanyakumari, Coonoor, Mahabalipuram, etc. Some popular tourist attractions of this state are Meenakshi Amman temple Nataraja temple, Five rathas, Arjuna’s penance, Padmanabhapuram palace, etc. 

The state portrays the ancient and cultural heritage of this state through forts, monuments, etc. This state has some of the most amazing temple architecture in the country.

Madurai which is a city of Tamil Nadu is one of the oldest inhabited city in the world. You will find rivers, mountains, valleys, hills, beaches, monuments, museums, national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, temples, and many more.

Ramanathswamy temple which is located on the Rameshwaram island which is a Lord Shiva’s temple. Rameshwaram is also one of the four pilgrimage centers of Char Dham.
