In the 19th century, Motilal Nehru has owned a big house in the Allahabad. In 1900, this big house was purchased from the Mr. Khan. He purchased the house in Rs 19000. He was a well-known lawyer of that time and was fighting for the Independence of India. It was a big house but was in a bad condition. Moti Lal Nehru completes the house in 10 years. He brought the best furniture from the other conditions. He named this house as Anand Bhawan. In 1970, Indra Gandhi gifted this house to the Indian national congress party. It was also the birth place of Late. Mrs. Indira Gandhi. He also constructed his own house near this. Both of these are now known as museums.

It is very beautiful and best museum in India. The museum has a big porch and rooms. The ceiling is at a great height. It has many things that were related to the Indian history. This museum is now handled by the memorial fund of Jawaharlal Nehru. The museum has a great collection of furniture, books and many other things. There are many rooms in the Swaraj Bhavan. The galleries are displayed in all the rooms of the museum. There is also an underground room in the museum which was used for the meetings.

There are many others nearby tourist’s spots near the museum. Some of them are Chandra Shekhar Azad Park, Holy Trinity church, a museum of Allahabad and many other attractive places. The best time to visit Swaraj Bhavan is from October to March. It has an entry fee of Rs 10 for every person. It is located on the 27 and 2 national Highway. It is connected with all the major cities. The nearest railway station is in Allahabad. The nearest airport is in Bamrauli. The opening time of the museum is from 9:30 AM to 5 PM. It remains closed on Monday.
