Raksha Bandhan

RakshaBandhan

The traditional Hindu Festival ‘Raksha Bandhan’ has its root some 6000 years back. It is believed that this secular festival was introduced by Aryans and ever since then Indians are celebrating it every year. The first sign of its celebration was spotted in The Indus Valley Civilization, and now you can witness the grand celebration in every corner of India.

The festival depicts the beautiful relation between brother and sister. Sisters tie beautifully crafted threads on the wrist of brothers and brothers take the oath to protect their sister from all evils.

Many ancient stories are related to this festival, and some of the highly preached names are related to this story. Some say its celebration was started by Rani Karmawati and Emperor Humayun while others believe it was Lord Krishna and Draupadi who first exchanged the sacred thread.
