Poonch Jammu and Kashmir

This place is famous for its name as mini Kashmir. It is the district of Jammu and Kashmir. This place is covered from its three sides with the Actual line of control. The area was also ruled many rulers in the past.

It is a beautiful place which has many spots for tourist’s attraction. The place is full of beautiful valleys, peaks, and lakes. The place also has religious centers and historical moments to visit. One of the most famous historical buildings is the Fort of Poonch. The architecture of the emperor of Poonch is similar to that of Mughals.

It is made by the Raja Rustam Singh in 1713. There is also one another fort named as Noori Chamb. Some people said that the beauty of this place impressed the Mughal king Jahangir. So, he named his wife as Noor Jahan.

There is an amazing waterfall to see. The tourists can also visit the most blessed center of Sikh Gurdwara Nangali Sahib. In 1803, this gurudwara is made by the Thakur Bhai Mela Singh. The building of this gurudwara was renovated as it was burnt in 1947. Every year, the festival of Baisakhi is celebrated with great joy.



There is also a temple of Swami Budha amaranth Ji having doors in all the directions at the Pir Panjal Range. The door of this temple is the symbol of four different castes of Hindus. There is also a beautiful place Girgan Dhok, which is a place of seven lakes. It is one of the major attractions of the place. These 7 lakes have seven different valleys, from which Nandan Sar Lake is the major one. There are many other spots for the tourists including Dehra Gali, Nandishool, logan and many others.

The tourists can reach this place through many means of transport. The nearest airport and railway station is at Jammu. The bus facility is also available from the Jammu. The best time to visit this place is in between October and November.
