Marine Drive Heart of Mumbai

Marine drive is basically a road extended up to 3 km. It starts from the business district of Mumbai (namiran) and it goes to the famous temple of the city known as Babulnath situated near Girgaon Chowpatty. The road is officially named after the former freedom fighter NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE. Marine drive is also known as the Queen’s Necklace. It is because of the fact that when the site is observed from a very high place, the streetlights illuminating together leads to the formation of a woman’s necklace.
Moreover, Marine drive is a very beautiful site to be observed in Mumbai.

Mumbai has a lot of tourist places to visit but Marine drive has its own shine amongst them. A lot of people used to visit it daily but the weekends view heavy crowds. This road at one point also joins the famous Chowpatty beach which is considered to be one of the beautiful sites of the city.

Mumbai undoubtedly is the most popular and loved city of India. It is the capital city of Maharashtra and the financial capital of India too. The city has its own shine and glory is considered to be the city of dreams for many youngsters and many times it fulfills their dreams too.

Mumbai in one instance witnesses the luxury enjoyed by the successful personalities and on the other hand it also sees the hardships and the struggles of the strugglers. So we can conclude that the city is a mixture of both the salt and sweet texture of the life. Talking about the Mumbai city one thing which strikes the mind is the MARINE DRIVE, which is given the title of “heart of Mumbai city”.

It consists of the famous food culture of the city including the stalls of Maharashtrian snacks such as bhel puri , paao bhaaji, gol gappas and many more delicious ones. The marine drive becomes a paradise for the visitors when they visit it at dawn and the dusk too. The sun rising view is so beautiful and the sunset view forms a perfect scenario.

Weather at Marine drive–The climate of Marine drives neither experience too hot nor too cold. The weather here is soothing which ranges between 16 degree Celsius to 32 degree Celsius. The area has an intense love for the rainfall and that’s why it experiences heavy monsoon during the season as compared to other areas. This happens because of the fact that the Arabian Sea is quite close to it and the coastline also is found here. But during the hot summers, the cool breeze from the sea provides some kind of a relief to the residents.

Hosting Events at Marine drive–The marine drive has witnessed the parade by the Maharashtra government on the occasion of text 65th republic day along the 4 km road (Marine drive) in 2014. Every city at one point or the other host’s marathon for its residents and Marine drive too hosts Mumbai marathon since 9 February 2004 and it is an international marathon.
