Krishna Balaram Mandir

One of the most famous ISKCON temples in India is the temple of Krishna Balaram. It is located in the Vrindavan city. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram. This temple is visited many by people from all around the world. It is popularly known as the Krishna Balaram Mandir.  In 1975, the temple was built by the ISKCON. Swami Prabhupada was the founder of the temple.

With the idols of Krishna and Balaram, the temple also has an idol of Gopi, Radha, and Vishakha. There are also idols of holy saints including Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The shrine of Swami Prabhupada is located at the entrance of the temple. After the death of the swami, his body was placed here to rest in 1977. The house of the swami has been changed into the Museum. It is one of the cleanest temples in India.

It is just 2 km away from the Railway station of Vrindavan. The visitors can take auto or cab to reach this temple. The nearest airport is in Delhi. The outside of the temple also has the restaurants and the guest house.  The best time to visit this temple is at the time of Janmashtami which is celebrated with great fun. The temple looks beautiful with flowers and ribbons. The visitors can visit this temple in the months from October to April. At this time, the tourists can enjoy shopping, festivals especially holi and Shri Krishan Janmashtami. The weather is also good in these months. The Mangal aarti starts at 4:30 AM. The temple opens for the devotees time of the temple is from 7 AM to 12 PM and from 4 PM to 8:30 PM. The rajbhog starts at 12 PM to 12:30 PM. The temple also offers internet facilities at Rs 30/ hour. It is one of the best and most famous temples of ISKCON.
