Konark is one of the most famous tourist attractions of Orissa. This 13th century Hindu Temple is dedicated to the God Sun and is shaped like a giant chariot. The entire structure of this temple is covered with stone carvings, and that’s what brings it into the list of the World Heritage Site.
The temple is located in the heart of the Konark village, which is 35 km from the Bay of Bengal. Build by Ganga king Narashimadev, The Sun Temple at Konarak was built in the 1250 AD, and the legends say that the temple has a great aura of power.
