Kainchi Dham

Kainchi Dham is a well-known pilgrimage in Uttrakhand that is about 17 km away from Nainital and 8 km away from Bhowali. It is dedicated to Hanuman and was built in 1960 by a great saint named Neem Karoli Baba. It is just by stepping in this temple that you will feel a presence and blessing of Hanuman Ji there.

The two hills, in which this temple is located, cut and cross each other making a shape of scissor. That’s why the place is known as Kainchi Dham. The temple is surrounded by the hills and also has a flowing river on its one side, which adds to its scenic beauty. The Neem Karoli Baba died on September 10, 1973 and his statue was consecrated in the Ashram on June 15, 1976. On this date, every year a fair is organized which is quite famous among the locals and the tourists.

The temple remains closed for maximum part of the year because winters are too cold here. So, visiting in the summer season would be the right decision.
