Himachal Pradesh is a northern Indian state which is located in the region of Himalayas. Thus, the state comprises of hills, valleys, mountains, etc. It is known as Dev Bhoomi which means Land of gods. The area is blessed with the tranquil beauty of mother earth. It has scenic landscape and breath-taking natural beauty. It also has strong Tibetan presence as the HH Dalai Lama stays in Dharamsala which is in Himachal Pradesh.

This place is a popular tourist destination which has a peaceful vibe to it. You can indulge yourself into many mountain activities like biking, trekking, rock climbing, paragliding, etc. It is the land of deities and every village has its own god and goddess which people worship. It is a smoke-free state which means that you must not smoke on the streets.

This state is the second largest producer of apple in the country. The languages that are widely spoken in the region are Hindi, English Pahari, kangri, Dogri, and Kinnaur. Himachal is popular for its rich culture and heritage as they still follow their old customs and traditions. Some of the important festivals of this state are Kullu Dussehra, Minjar fair, Chhat festival, Navratri festival etc.

The pashmina shawl is one handicraft of this state which is renowned worldwide for its best quality. The people are called Himachalis or Paharis. Folk music is popular among them. There are many places in Himachal Pradesh where you can spend your vacation like Shimla, Dharamsala, Manali, Kasoli, etc. Every corner of this state is serene and beautiful.
