The Hall of Fame in Leh, Ladakh is a museum dedicated to the soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who fought in the three wars between India and Pakistan. The museum contains accounts and memoirs of those soldiers who were martyred during the war.
The museum consists of two floors; the first floor is mainly dedicated to the soldiers. It comprises information about those who fought the war, the various heroic acts, the struggles they went through, etc. The floor also consists a souvenir shop where you can buy war memorabilia from all the three Indo – Pakistan wars. The second floor, on the other hand, contains various artifacts related to the wars. Most of the artifacts in this level are from the much recent Kargil War. All the items are displayed wonderfully and readily invoke a sense of patriotism in every Indian. Walking through the halls of the museum makes the visitors feel the pain and the sufferings of the heroes of the nation.
Other activities to do in the museum include watching the 30-minute documentary film on the Kargil War or tackling the ‘Baby assault course’ in the nearby mini adventure park. The assault course is something kids, and youngsters look forward to while visiting the museum. The museum also houses the sophisticated ‘Aroma Cafe’ which serves up some delicious delights. The Hall of Fame was recently voted among the top 25 museums in Asia, and it truly deserves its place in that list.
