Dusshera

Dusshera is a major Hindu festival celebrated throughout the country with great enthusiasm. People all over the India worship goddess Durga on this holy day. The roots of its celebration take us back to the days of Lord Rama when he killed the demon king Ravana and marked the victory of good over evil.

Although the festival is celebrated with a different approach in different part of the country, the sense of celebration remains the same all across the country. People observe fast for the first eight days of the festival, and on the 9th day, the entire country witnesses a holiday. On the last three days of the ten days celebration, friends and family get together to enjoy the delicious feast and fireworks.
