Chittorgarh Fort

Chittorgarh is also known by the name of Chittaur. Right from the seventh century to the sixteenth, Chittorgarh was the capital of Mewar under the Rajputs. Chittaur brings out collections of awesome heroism and sacrifices by Rajput men and women in the fights. Chittaur saw both the assaults of war and the triumphs. Allaudin Khilji who desired the Queen Padmini of Chittaur, attacked the city in 1303 A.D. Ruler Padmini and the ladies of the court relinquished themselves in a fire of flame as opposed to submit to anyone. This sacrifice has been called “Jauhar” and exemplifies the searing soul of the Rajputs of the day.

Chittor Fort is one of the biggest forts of India. It is the most fantastic fortresses of Rajasthan. The massive fortress lies at a distance of 112 km from Udaipur and is situated on a hoisted slope of 180m close to the Gambheri River in Chittorgarh. It broadens 3 km long and 13 km in fringe length, covering an aggregate range of 700 sections of land. The fortification has an enormous structure with different very much composed royal residences inside, alongside colossal towers and amazing cenotaphs.
