Buddha Smriti Park,Patna

The Buddha Smriti Park is located in Patna, Bihar. It is one of the most popular places for spending time with your friends and family. It was built by the government of Bihar for memorizing the birth of Buddha. That is why it is also famous as Buddha Memorial park. It covered an area of 22 acres and it was constructed at the cost of Rs 125 crores.

This park was opened on 27th May 2010 by the Dalai Lama. It was designed by the Vikram Lall architect. It was constructed on the same place where the central jail of Bakipur was built. The clock tower of the old jail is still present in the park.

The main attraction of the park is a 200 feet high stupa present in the center of the park. Stupa has a golden color Buddha in a sitting posture and it is kept in a glass box. It was built by using charcoal and kept in a bullet-proof chamber. It has a big central hall inside it. It is decorated well with concentric tiles on the wooden flooring. The hall only has a case located in its center. It has the holy ashes of Lord Buddha. There is no any other item or image present in the park. The visitors can reach the top of the building by following the circular path up to the three levels. The visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of the whole park from this stupa. The

The park also has a museum, library, and center for meditation. The museum reflects all the life history of Lord Buddha. The mixture of 3D animation, audio and video are used to present the story of Lord Buddha.

The meditation center was constructed from the plan of the Nalanda university monasteries. The monastery has 60 different views of a stupa in the 60 different cells. The library of the park has a good collection of Buddhist books. This park is one of the best places to get the knowledge about the life and history of Lord Buddha.

The park has two unique trees which were brought from the Both tree and Mahameghavana Anuradhapura tree.

It is located at a distance of 100 m away from the railway station and on the Frazer Road of Patna. It is just 7 km away from the Patna Airport. The tourists can reach this park easily by booking cab, bus or taxi. The opening time of the park is from 11 AM to 7 PM from Tuesday to Sunday. It remains closed on Monday. The entry fee in the park for 2 hours is Rs 20 and for Karuna Stupa it is Rs 50 for 2 hours. The entrance fee in the meditation center is Rs 200 per person for an hour.
