Despite of all these features, the Bhitarkanika National Park is a less discovered area in Odisha. However, the number of tourists is growing from a few last years. The park is the home to fishing cat, leopard cat, hyena, spotted deer, wild boar, porcupine, water crocodile, dolphin, king cobra, woodpecker, kingfisher, pintail, see gull, hornbill, terrapin, water monitor lizards and a huge range of migratory birds.

Khola and Gupti are the entry points to Bhitarkanika National Park and the visitors are required to get entry permit at the Forest Check Gate of these entries. No matter which entry point you go through, you will have access to the private boats as well as to the forest department boats. And the best time to visit this place is November to February.
