Counted among the most religious towns, Badrinath is the holiest of the well known Char Dhams in India. Situated between the Nar and Narayana mountains, Badrinath town is a land where Badrinath Temple is situated. The temple is located 3133 meters above sea level, on the bank of Alaknanda River.

The Badrinath Temple is one of the 108 holy shrines of Vaishnavities Hindu Temple and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The conical shaped temple was built two centuries ago by Adi Shankaracharya and has been renovated many times after that. There are 15 idols in the temple complex which are built using black stone. Also, the temple is surrounded by a number of hot springs.

If you are planning to visit this temple, you are required to know that the temple is opened to visitors only for a period of six months i.e. from April to October. Other tourist places that you can visit in Badrinath are Tapt Kund, Neelkanth Peek, Mata Murti Temple, Narad Kund, Vyas Cave, Panch Shilas and Panch Dharas.
