Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state in India and it is a northern state. The capital of this state is Lucknow. Uttarakhand was a part of UP before the year 2000. The official language of this state is Hindi. Urdu and English are also widely spoken in this region.

Agriculture contributes largely to the economy of the state. There are several industries too. It also has an abundance of natural resources too.

The state has several natural, religious and historical tourist destinations like Agra, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Jhansi, Bareilly, etc. Some of the famous tourist attractions of this place are Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Manikarnika Ghat, Vishwanath temple, Mehtab Bagh, Assi ghat and many more. You will see many monuments and forts in this region which date back to thousands of years. This state is also called as Hindi Heartland.

Varanasi is the Cultural capital of India which is a part of UP. This state is the largest producer of food grains and oilseeds in India. Some other major crops that are grown here are wheat, maize, gram, potatoes, etc. It is also the largest meat producing and exporting state. Some major industries of UP are paper, edible oil, leather products, etc.

This place has many historical significance. One such fact is that it is home to Taj Mahal which was the seventh wonder of the world. Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities. At Sarnath, Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to its devotees. most importantly this place is considered pure and pious because it is the birth place of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna and Lord Buddha.
