Maharashtra

Maharashtra is one of the richest states in India. It is also home to the Indian Bollywood industry which is operated from the capital of the state that is Mumbai. It is India’s third largest state which has many iconic attractions. You will find world heritage sites, pristine beaches, mountains, cosmopolitan cities and many more things which can only be found here. It also has India’s most impressive national park known as Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve.

The cave temples of Ellora and Ajanta are undoubtedly the greatest monuments made from solid rock. Some other tourist attractions are Bibi-ka-maqbara, Elephant Caves, Gateway of India, Chhatrapati Shivaji temple, Haji Ali Dargah, Shree Chhatrapati Shahu Museum, Mahalaxmi temple, Janjira and the list is long.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is a historic railway station which was earlier known as the Victoria Terminus and it is now a UNESCO world heritage site. Rivers like the Godavari, Bhima and Krishna flows through the state.

Kalsubai peak is the highest peak of this state. Many minerals like coal, iron, bauxite, manganese, oil and natural gases are obtained from Maharashtra. Some major industries of this state are chemical, petroleum, electrical machinery, machine tools, iron industry, etc. At Shirpur, the first Gold refinery of India is located. It is also a major agricultural producer in the country and crops like cotton, sugarcane, pulses, fruits, etc are grown here.

Ganesh Chaturthi is the main festival celebrated here. Marathi is the local language of this state. Though, Hindi and English are widely spoken too. This state shows a part of the true culture of India.
