Jama Masjid

Masjid-i Jahan-Numa famous as Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India. Every wall of the mosque is penetrated with deep history and fascinating tales. Located in the heart of old Delhi, this mosque has the capacity of about 25000 people.

5000 labors gathered during the reign of Sah Jahan to build this mosque. It is said that it took more than 1 million to construct the entire place. Every Friday, a large number of devotees gather around the place to offer Namaz.

Along with its cultural significance, the mosque also stands as the example of Mughal architectures. The 40-meter high minaret was built with white marble and red stone. The mosque has four towers and three entry gates. Taking inspiration from its architecture son of Sah Jahan built a similar Mosque in Lahore.
