The Masjid is also famous as the mosque of Pearl or the pearl mosque. It is located in the Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. In 1860, it was built by the Sikandar Jahan Begum. She was a modern woman who comes up with various ideas. She designed it very beautifully. The design and architecture of Moti Masjid are somewhat similar to that of Jama Masjid. It was built with a white marble on a red brick platform. It shines like pearls, which increases the beauty of the Masjid.

The Moti Masjid tells about the Bhopal begums’ history. The Masjid was designed beautifully. It has minarets of dark red color on both sides of the building. It was designed with bright golden color. It is also said that it is a way to the heaven from the earth. These minarets are also used to announce the prayer to the Islam followers.

The masjid has three mosques of domed and carved shape. It is designed with white marble. It was plated with copper originally. The mosque is 8 meters in height, 12 meters in length and 9 meters in width. There is a big hall for the prayer in the mosque. It designed with black marble with small carpets in between. The hall is located on a higher platform. There are copper plated leaves on the east door of the masjid. The masjid was designed using the architecture of Hindu style.

The tourists can reach this place by auto, taxi, bus or by any other vehicle. The entrance fee for the Indians is Rs 20 and Rs 300 for the foreigners. It remains open from Monday to Friday at 6:30 AM to 7 PM.
