Nishat Bagh is located in the Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. It is a Terraced and largest Mughal garden in the Kashmir. As the largest garden is Shalimar garden but the Nishat garden is more beautiful and attractive. The Nishat garden is located near the Dal Lake’s eastern side. The backside of the garden has Zabarwan Mountains. In 1633, this garden was built by the Asif Khan. He is the brother of Noor Jahan.
The garden represents 12 different Zodiac signs as it has 12 different terraces. Its design was based on the design of the Persian garden. The first terrace has a pool of water that helps to collect all the water. The second terrace has 5 fountains and the water is supplied by the third terrace. It also has a unique design. The fourth terrace has a square pool of water and a water channel. The visitors can sit and enjoy the view from the fifth terrace. There are 5 water fountains and two levels in the sixth and seventh terrace. There is a water chute on the eighth, octagonal bench overlooking on the ninth level and water chute with fountains on the tenth level. The eleventh level has a pool and 25 fountains and the twelveth level is the end of the terrace has blind arches.
It also offers you the full view of the Dal Lake, Pir Panjal ranges and snow covered mountains. In every segment of the gardens, there were pools and fountains. There are many beds of colorful flowers that increase the beauty of the garden. There are also many and huge types of trees in the garden. The center channel of the water is covered by the tall trees of Chinar. The garden looks very beautiful which made it photogenic. It is a good place for visiting with friends and families. There are many malls for shopping on its outside. The best time to visit this garden is from April to October.
